MedMyst Medical Mysteries on the web
Le jeu a été développé par le Center for Technology in Teaching and Learning at Rice University.
Students of all ages are welcome to play MedMyst, an interactive, learning adventure. As you enter a futuristic world, you will help solve medical mysteries in infectious diseases. Medical Mysteries is a problem-based adventure game that engages you, the player, in the role of scientist, historian, and detective. There are three missions, each with its own learning objectives. The knowledge gained from each mission will help you understand how infectious diseases are spread. This Project was developed by The Center for Technology in Teaching and Learning at Rice University through a Science Education Partnership Award from the National Center for Research Resources, National Institutes of Health, and an R25 grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Recognition of the Medical Mysteries web adventures series as a featured web site underscores the quality of our educational content. Research results based on the implementation of the Medical Mysteries web adventure series as a teaching tool have been published by several sources. Contributors to this project include both our collaborators, as well as the team at Rice University.
For teachers:
We hope that you and your students extend the MedMyst adventures with activities designed to cover related learning objectives. The materials are intended for use both before and after students have “played” Missions of MedMyst. The files may be printed for classroom use ONLY. They consist of mini-labs that can be done with relatively little equipment or expense. Rice University and the sponsoring agency cannot be responsible for any accidents or injuries that may result from the conduct of the activities without proper supervision, from not specifically following directions or from ignoring cautions contained in the text. We encourage you to adopt these activities to your own classroom needs.
